First Touch Ministry

Creating a place where people know they belong.

At Community of Hope, our mission is connecting people with the hope of Jesus. We believe that connection often begins before a person ever hears a sermon or sings a worship song. It begins with a smile, a warm welcome, a helping hand, and someone who takes the time to notice them.

That’s First Touch.

Our First Touch Ministry helps create an environment where everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, welcomed, cared for, and valued.

Whether we're greeting someone at the door, helping a family find their way, serving coffee, preparing for communion, answering a question, or simply taking a moment to talk with someone, we have the opportunity to make someone's first experience at Community of Hope a positive one.

What does First Touch include?

Greeters
We are often the first people someone encounters when they arrive. We welcome people with a genuine smile, help them find their way, answer questions, and look for opportunities to make people feel comfortable and at home.

Hospitality
We help create a warm and inviting environment where people can relax, connect, and feel cared for. From coffee and refreshments to helping people find what they need, hospitality is about creating an atmosphere that says, “We're glad you're here.”

Communion
We help prepare and serve communion, creating space for people to pause, remember Jesus, and participate in worship. We approach this responsibility with care, reverence, and a servant's heart.

Our responsibility

First Touch isn't simply about completing a list of tasks. It's about people.

We look for the person standing alone.
We notice the person who looks lost.
We welcome the person who may be nervous about being here.
We help families navigate their first visit.
We answer questions without making anyone feel like they should already know the answer.
And we create opportunities for people to take their next step when they're ready.

Most importantly, we represent the heart of Community of Hope every time we interact with someone.

We don't know what someone is carrying when they walk through our doors. They may be excited, lonely, hurting, skeptical, searching, or simply looking for a place to belong.

Our job isn't to fix their lives.

Our job is to love them, welcome them, serve them, and help create a place where they can encounter the hope of Jesus.

The First Touch

We may be the first person someone meets at Community of Hope—but we don't have to be the last.

Our hope is that every interaction helps people move one step closer to community, connection, and ultimately the hope of Jesus.

The first smile.
The warm welcome.
The lasting impact.

This is First Touch.
